Fallen Douglas Fir Being Measured

A fallen Douglas Fir on the Tall Timber Trail in the Willamette National Forest being measured. That man is 6′3″ tall – about as tall as the trunk was wide. The tree was over 330′ long.

December Snow in the Cascades, Trapper Creek, Willamette Pass

Though it may not look like much comparatively, there’s about three feet of snow on the ground. Made for a nice photo.
